Emirates Flight EK521 has crashed landed at Dubai International Airport on arrival from Trivandrum, India.
The Boeing 777-31H, tail number A6-EMW, appeared to land heavily before being overtaken by fire.
Early indications are that the 300 passengers and crew have been safely evacuated with no reported injuries.
The Boeing aircraft was 13 years old and first flew in 2003.
