Stray Balloon Disrupts Gatwick Flights

Gatwick Airport briefly suspend all outbound flights around 09:00 today (April 13 2012) due to a hot-air balloon straying into it’s airspace.
Incoming planes were not affected and flights quickly resumed as the balloon drifted away.

You can see the gap in outbound traffic at LGW using the playback facility on the planefinder.net

We also saw the first flight, EasyJet EZ8917 (EZY8917), departing Gatwick at around 09:15 shortly after the balloon was safely out of the area.
