We are tracking the very first arrival of an Airbus A380 into Schiphol Airport today.

Emirates flight EK147 from Dubai will soon become the first scheduled A380 flight to touch down in Holland.

The flight call sign is UAE147 and the Airbus A380 aircraft registration is A6-EDU.

The 5th Schiphol runway at 3,800 meters long was opened in 2003 and specifically designed for the A380.

A test flight landed on July 15 to test out the handling procedure and the equipment that had been waiting for many years for this arrival.

The aircraft has been a long time coming and can at long last now be enjoyed by passengers and aviation enthusiasts.
